History

Foaled in 1996 in Germany and bred by Heinrick Lahmeyer, who was also the breeder of the licensed Oldenburg stallion Harvard, Rodioso was off to a good start by being in such experienced hands.

In November 1999, Rodioso was presented to the Oldenburg Verband for his stallion license. He was awarded a '10' on character, a '9' on conformation, and '8's on temperament and ridablity... showing the tractability and generosity the Rubinstein line is famous for.

Rodioso was expertly prepared for his 100 days performance test by Ulli Henschke and his wife Birgit Wellhausen-Henschke. He passed his performance test in February, 2001 and was imported to the USA by his new owner Dr. Jan Williams of Coyote Run Farm in Massachusetts.

Rodioso made his in-hand debut in 2001 and was named Champion Stallion at the Potomac Valley Dressage Association's August show. He followed that success with the Stallion Championship and Mature Horse Championship at the New England Dressage Association's CDI Breed Show. He finished his first show season by being named Grand Champion Stallion and Oldenburg IBC Winner at the prestigious Devon Horse Show in Pennsylvania.

In the summer of 2004 Rodioso was aquired by Pamela Pentz of Derby Farms. In 2005 he placed 1st in Oldenburg Stallions in the USDF All Breeds Horse of the Year and was named Grand Champion Stallion for the Pacific Northwest Series of Cosequin/USDF finals. His riding career has spanned over 14 years with Ms. Pentz and they have shown thru Grand Prix earning numerous national awards. Still sane, sound and actively breeding he is the advanced school master in the lesson program at Derby Farms.
